Trojan hangover?

Is there really such a thing as a Trojan hangover? The facts might say so.

Teams have gone just 4-11 in games immediately following a win over a Pete Carroll-coached USC squad, suggesting that a victory against the Trojans takes a serious toll. That record doesn't include Stanford's matchup this weekend against California nor the results of Utah and Texas after their bowl wins over the Trojans, since their next games didn't occur for another nine months.

Here's the listing of the teams that have beaten Carroll's Trojans and the result of their subsequent game:

2001
Kansas State • lost to Texas Tech
Oregon • beat Utah State
Stanford • lost to Washington State
Washington • lost to UCLA
Notre Dame • lost to Boston College
Utah • end of season (won 2002 season opener)
