The Trojans are at or very near the top of the Pac-10 in numerous stat categories so far in 2009. Check it out:

- Scoring defense: 1st. The defense has given up 8.6 points per game. UCLA is ranked second, giving up 15.5 points per game.
- Rushing defense: 1st. The Trojans have allowed 64.8 rushing yards per game.
- Total defense: 2nd. The defense has given up 238.6 yards per game, just 6 yards per game behind Arizona State.
- Total offense: 1st. The offense has averaged 430.6 yards per game in the first 5 games.
- Punt return average: 2nd. The duo of Damian Williams and Joe McKnight has averaged 16.6 yards per return with the first touchdown scored this weekend against California.
- Pass efficiency: 2nd. Matt Barkley and Aaron Corp have combined for an efficiency rating of 134.8, which is second only to Stanford.
- Opponent's third-down conversion: 1st. Opponent's have only converted 29.5% of third-down attempts.
- Sacks: 1st. USC has sacked the opponent's quarterback 21 times. California is second with 15 sacks.
- Red zone defense: 2nd. The Trojan defense has only allowed opponents to score a touchdown or field goal 9 times out of 13 trips to the red zone.

He's an MIT Mathematician who uses strength of schedule, home field advantage, and he DOES NOT give bonus points to teams who inflate their scores over the weaker team... see Texas, OK, FL, Texas Tech, Houston, Ohio State, etc.....
