Timely work by Bradford

Allen Bradford ran for 147 yards and scored two touchdowns in Saturday's win, but one of the tailback's most impressive feats isn't in the stat book.

With about 90 seconds left in the game and the Trojans trying to run out the clock, Bradford took a handoff and bounced outside to the left before deftly sliding down inbounds instead of gliding out of bounds, which would have stopped the clock. With the time continuing to tick down, USC went on to take a knee and clinch the victory.

"I was running and just remembered, 'Stay inbounds,' so I fell to the ground," Bradford said, smiling at the recollection.

Running backs coach Todd McNair, who spent the previous timeout reminding the players about remaining inbounds, said he was very impressed with Bradford's smarts on that play.

"Even though the play took him outside, he had the presence of mind to stay inbounds," McNair said. "It was a huge play because it allowed us to run the clock out."
