EUGENE, Ore. -- This weekend's trip to Oregon has already been a resounding success on at least one front.

The cuisine front.

From the moment the Trojans left Heritage Hall all the way through bed check tonight, they've been eating. And eating some more.

It all started with Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwiches before boarding the buses on campus, and then immediately after arriving at LAX for their charter flight, another bag lunch -- filled with a roast beef or turkey sandwich, chips and dessert -- was waiting for them. The two-hour plane ride itself was essentially a flying buffet line, as flight attendants were constantly serving cheese, crackers, fruit, candy, ice cream and Gatorade.

The Trojans had to wait a whopping two hours before eating again though, as they were famished while they drove to and conducted their walk-thru at Autzen Stadium. But don't worry, 100 large pizzas and hundreds of chicken wings were ready for mass consumption right when the team arrived at its Eugene hotel. Then about two hours later, after meetings, a snack -- the understatement of all understatements -- was made available. The abundant buffet feast consisted of pastas, chicken fingers, burgers, pizza (yes, more pizza), desserts, sandwiches and various snacks.

Fortunately, no one's counting calories on a football team.
