C.J. Gable has found a new role this week. And he couldn't be impressing the coaches more.
Gable, a 6-0, 205-pound redshirt junior, has been playing scout-team tailback this week, giving the first-unit defense a strong look to prepare for the high-powered rushing attack it'll see on Saturday against Oregon. His experience and skill-set are providing the defense with some exceptional preparation for this weekend's matchup.
"C.J.'s been doing great for us all week and he's been so helpful for the defense," Coach Carroll said. "All the defensive coaches are raving about what he's been doing in practice."

Curious how the coaches "rave" about C.J. and yet he has been all but removed from the tailback rotation. Perhaps the outcome of the Oregon game would have been different had the coaches taken the time to think that one through...
Isabelle- great comment, right on the money. My buddies and I have been wondering the same thing this whole season. Why don't the coaches play Gable anymore? Is Coach Carroll just bitter than he thought about leaving for the NFL after last season? Joe fumbles nearly every game, sometimes numerous times a game, and Pete keeps him in. Seems like poor coaching choices.
Yeah me and some of my frat bros were talkin bout this just on Sat. So confused on this. Could of used Gable in Oregon and Washington, also in other games this season that we hardly won. He's straight beastly hope Pete's not takin him out forever. Wake up coaches we need CJ back!!
