While the team's focus is set on Saturday's season opener, it's worth looking ahead a few days to the beginning part of next week.
Players will receive Sunday off, while coaches will examine the San Jose State game tape and dive into the Ohio State game plan all day that day. And then on Monday, even though it's Labor Day, coaches and players will proceed through their normal first-day-of-the-week routine. Players will have workouts in the weight room all morning, coaches will have staff meetings and the team will come together for film sessions at 2:15 and practice at 4:30 p.m.
In addition to working on the holiday on Monday, it'll be a funky week also because it's lining up to be a quick one. The team will leave for Columbus on Thursday afternoon, altering the usual game week schedule and making Wednesday the last normal day of the week for the Trojans.
