To do his homework for this weekend's broadcast, Brent Musburger is going the extra mile.

Or extra 4,000 miles, give or take a few.

As the play-by-play man for Saturday's national ABC broadcast of the USC-Ohio State game, Musburger is watching film, attending practices and meeting with coaches and players around Heritage Hall today and Tuesday. He flew into L.A. on Sunday from Atlanta, where he called the Alabama-Virginia Tech game on Saturday night, and he'll be leaving on a flight headed to Ohio on Wednesday morning.

That's a roughly 4,000-mile trip from Atlanta to L.A. to Columbus, all so Musburger can fully prepare for the nationally televised broadcast on Saturday night.
