Thoughts from Monday's practice, through the eyes of USCRipsIt...

- A short, non-contact workout on Cromwell Field initiated the Trojans into game week No. 2 of the 2009 season, as the team hustled through a fast-action practice that acted as a review of Saturday's win and an introduction into the Ohio State game plan.

- Center Kristofer O'Dowd, who has sat out since dislocating his knee cap on Aug. 17, returned to full-speed practice Monday, participating in 11-on-11 drills and taking reps at center. "Tomorrow's a big day for him," Coach Carroll said.

- Coach Carroll, in the post-practice team huddle: "The week is officially underway. It'll go quickly now, so let's make sure everyone stays tuned in the whole way."

- The Trojans practiced on the FieldTurf of Cromwell Field to prepare them for the surface they'll see at Ohio Stadium on Saturday.

- Two silly uniform peculiarities occurred during Monday's workout -- offensive linemen Charles Brown and Butch Lewis switched jerseys, creating some funny confusion for their coaches and teammates, and Aaron Corp rolled up his sleeves sun's-out-guns-out style, prompting several lighthearted verbal jabs from his teammates. Also on the fashion front, the offense (now in white) and defense (now in cardinal) switched jersey colors for the first time since the opening week of December, when the team last prepared for a road game.
