A Spike Lee joint

USC has once again lived up to its "Hollywood's team" nickname.

Legendary filmmaker Spike Lee stopped by the team meeting this afternoon and is planning on attending this afternoon's practice as well. After being introduced by Coach Carroll, Lee spoke to the team for a few minutes and shared a story of when he met Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis at a Yankees game this summer. Lee said Weis invited him to come to an Irish game in South Bend this season, and Lee requested to go to the USC-Notre Dame game in October.

"I told him, 'Coach, let me be honest with you, Southern Cal's my team,'" a smiling Lee said, eliciting laughter from the players. "'I'll go, but I'll be standing on the 'SC sidelines.'"

Lee, long-time friends with Carroll, is yet another celebrity to come around the team so far this season, following after Magic Johnson, Will Ferrell and Bill Withers, to name a few.
