First-year quarterbacks coach Jeremy Bates is back in the office today after spending the last three weeks traveling to recruit.
Mark that down in the record books -- Bates survived his rookie experience on the recruiting trail.
In his first stint as a college coach, the 32-year-old Bates traversed his new recruiting territory for much of the last month, often visiting up to 12 high schools a day.
But he couldn't have done it without the help of his trusty friend -- the in-dash GPS featuring voice navigation.
"I don't know how the old-school coaches did it without the lady telling you where to go," Bates joked.
