Coach Carroll was on celebrity row at the Laker game on Tuesday night, sitting courtside just a few feet from the bench.
And he's still relishing the experience and the win.
"It was a complete blast," a smiling Carroll said this morning. "The crowd was really cooking, there were big plays everywhere and Kobe was awesome. They were doing basically everything right -- it felt like the Orange Bowl for us a few years ago."
Carroll, who went to the game with his son Nate and got to shake Kobe's hand after the 118-78 victory, is heaping praises on Lakers coach Phil Jackson for his performance during the game.
"That game was a prime example of extraordinary coaching," Carroll said. "They totally took the Rockets apart. It was so clear what they were doing -- pounding the ball in to [Pau] Gasol, getting the Rockets in foul trouble early. You could see the plan, it was so clear. And afterward, even [Rockets coach Rick] Adelman said, 'I don't know what to do, they found our weakness.' All that credit goes to Phil and his staff."
