Happy weekend

It was an historic weekend for the USC athletic department.

First, both the men's and women's track and field teams beat UCLA in the dual meet on Saturday, an unprecedented feat in the 26-year history of the rivalry event.

Through that sweep and the women's rowing team's victory against the Bruins this weekend, USC won the Lexus Gauntlet for the second consecutive year and fifth time in the trophy's eight-year history.

And then on Saturday night, the USC men's volleyball team upset No. 2-ranked Pepperdine in the MPSF championship match to capture the conference title and earn a berth in the NCAA Final Four set for this weekend in Provo, Utah. The Trojans haven't appeared in the Final Four since 1991.
