A proud time to be a Trojan

The pinnacle of all pinnacles at USC has come -- welcome to graduation day.

With pride swelling and goose bumps tingling, the energy, excitement and anticipation on campus today is at least equivalent to -- if not more than -- a game day in the fall. Cardinal-and-gold flowers garnish the grounds, 4,500 graduates don matching gowns and overjoyed family and friends -- Trojan fans in their own right -- fill the campus with a sweet aura of achievement and delight.

And it all adds up to one heck of a great day to be a Trojan.

Graduates and their families and friends are pouring onto campus now, as the 126th annual commencement will begin with a processional in less than an hour before the main ceremony, featuring speaker Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, starts at 9 a.m. Thirty-three satellite graduation ceremonies for the university's various schools and colleges follow throughout the day. You can watch the main ceremony through a live internet stream here.

We'll be updating the Blog throughout the day as we bring you pictures of the festivities, including some of the 14 football players being honored today for earning their undergraduate college degrees.
