Practice notes

The Trojans will conclude the second trimester of Spring Practice 2009 with today's workout, which is set for 4 p.m. on Howard Jones field. Here are some news and notes for the session:

- The players will be back in shoulder pads for the first time since Saturday's scrimmage as they don half-pads this afternoon.

- It's "Turnover Thursday" -- or more appropriately, "No Turnover Thursday," since the offense pitched a shutout during last week's turnover-themed workout.

- A 1-on-1 period between the wideouts and cornerbacks will be featured once again after a one-week hiatus.

- During a situational segment of practice, the Trojans will install the "four-minute offense," which is used to run out the clock when USC has the lead at the end of games.

- Today's practice is open to the public, like the rest of the workouts this spring.
