Today is Turnover Thursday at USC, and if things follow the spring-long trend, it could be another day for the defense.
But don't judge too soon.
The defense has won the turnover battle in five of six practices this spring, and Coach Carroll is making sure the offense doesn't settle for following the trend and instead rises up to the challenge for this afternoon's 4 p.m. half-pads practice.
"The offense needs to pitch a shutout today," the defensive-minded Coach Carroll told his assistants during this morning's staff meeting, saying it as a challenge to the offensive coaches. "You guys need this bad."
