Practice No. 3 of the spring will be at 4 p.m. today on Howard Jones field (it's open to the public). Check out a few notes on the third of 15 workouts during Spring Practice 2009:
- This afternoon's workout will be the first day in shoulder pads this spring, meaning the hits should be flying.
- It's "Turnover Thursday" at USC, the spring's version of the in-season "Turnover Wednesday" practice. Ball protection for the offense and takeaways for the defense are at a premium today.
- Today is the first half of a back-to-back set of practices (Friday's workout is at 4 p.m.). It's one of only two occurrences of practices on consecutive days this spring.
- Installation of plays for the offense will be scaled back drastically today, as the first two days of Spring Practice feature the heaviest loads for playbook implementation during practice.
