When the Trojans take the field for practice this spring, almost everything is calculated, scripted and purposeful.

Even the attire.

For each of the 15 practices this spring (along with all of Fall Camp), the offense will be wearing cardinal practice jerseys and the defense will be in white practice jerseys since the next game for the Trojans is a home game. Last year, since the first game of 2008 was a road contest at Virginia, the Trojan offense practiced in white (and the defense in cardinal) throughout spring and fall camp.

The Trojans follow that formula -- the offense practices in the color the team will wear on the coming Saturday, while the defense wears the opposite during practice -- throughout the season so that the quarterbacks can develop a visual connection with their receivers' jersey colors.
