Thoughts from Friday's practice, through the eyes of USCRipsIt...
- The no-pads workout acted as a quick review and refresh session, though it wasn't at a lack for special plays. Linebacker Chris Galippo forced a fumble with a powerful strip, wideout Jordan Cameron made an acrobatic catch on a jump ball in the end zone and tailback Marc Tyler produced a long run up the middle to highlight the 30-play practice that was doused with tons of special teams work.
- The long list of big-time plays doesn't even include the perfect ending to the day, as tight end Anthony McCoy, standing innocently in the end zone, snagged a tipped ball on a Hail Mary attempt from Matt Barkley at the conclusion of the practice.
- During team period, Barkley also threw a beautiful 20-yard touchdown-scoring strike to wideout Brice Butler, who was running a post route from the right. "That was gorgeous!" Coach Carroll proclaimed.
- In the huddle after the practice, Carroll praised the team for its efficient work Friday: "We got a lot of good looks and a lot of stuff done today," Carroll said, before turning his attention to Saturday's scrimmage. "We're going to have a hell of a day tomorrow. It's one of the last big opportunities to show who you are and where you fit on this team, so you've got to bring it."
