Today marks the final day of an historic exchange program at USC.

Nobo Hamabe, the assistant head coach for the Waseda University American football team in Tokyo, has spent the last year with the Trojans, embedded in meetings, practices and every team activity as he aimed to soak up knowledge of the game to take back to his squad.

Coaches Pat Ruel and Rocky Seto met Hamabe on a trip to Japan in 2007, and soon thereafter set up the year-long exchange program that Hamabe concludes today. Ruel hosted Hamabe at his house for his entire stay in the U.S.

"This has been the greatest experience of my life," Hamabe told the Trojans during this afternoon's team meeting.
